Party Pita Wedges

Party Pita Wedges

4 Pita breads

(For the Mexican Topping)
1 cup of prepared salsa
1 cup shredded reduced-fat, Monterey Jack cheese
4 canned of chopped green chilies
2 tablespoons sliced black olives (no pits)

(For the Italian Topping)
1 cup seeded, chopped tomatoes
2 tablespoons chopped red onion
1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
1/2 cup shredded part-skim, Mozzarella cheese

(For the Deli Topping)
3 ounces of smoked turkey, (shredded)
1/2 cup shredded reduced-fat, Swiss cheese
1 cup seeded, chopped tomatoes

1. In 3 small bowls, combine topping ingredients. Mix well.

2. Preheat oven to 350* F. Slice each pita bread into 4 equal wedges.
    Place the wedges on a non-stick baking sheet and spoon 1 type of topping
    onto each wedge.

3 Bake until the cheese melts and pita bread is crisp for about 10 minutes.
   Using a flat spatula, place the wedges on a serving platter and serve
   immediately. (Makes 16 wedges)

(Cooking Tips)
Pita bread is a smart sandwich of your choice. Most brands have less than
1 gram of fat/serving. Choose whole-wheat pitas for more fiber.
