“You must not eat this, you can't eat that or else you'll end up having high cholesterol, heart trouble, stroke, diabetes, the most dreaded
cancer and so on and so on”… These are the comments you seem to get from today`s advice.
Its ok to hear all of the above comments and I think its quite common nowadays but don’t
feel despair because not all the foods in our markets and shops are bad. Nothing can go wrong if you were to chose a better food other than
vegetables and fruits. Eating vegetables and fruits will definitely boost your health and prevent diseases such as I mentioned above. The
benefits are: less fat, very low calories and zero cholesterol level. Vegetables contains a lot of dietary fibres which are good for our
digestive system and in turns help to prevent constipation. If consume vegetables regularly, our bodies antioxidant level will definitely
increase and this will help fight deadly diseases such as cancer and other illness.
The best thing you can do for your body is to chose your meals centering around vegetables so as to have a more healthier life equal to none.
Remember, no amount of money can buy Health. People are normally worried about not getting enough vitamins and minerals if they were to convert
to eating vegetables. I assure you that beans are good substitute for meat and some of them such as soy beans have higher vitamin contents. There
are a lot of varieties in the market for us to chose and you don't have to burn a big hole in your pocket by buying expensive food supplements or
multi vitamins in capsules. Unknowingly to some, it may be harmful if taken too much or overdose.
So, let's not take the goodness of vegetables for granted even though we know that they can benefit us. How much do you know about vegetables,
what are their contents and medicinal values etc.

Studies conducted and led by Dr Eunyoung Cho, associate proffessor of medicine at Harvard medical school.
Woman who ate red meat more than once a day especially processed hamburgers and sausages double the risk of getting the most common types of
breast cancer. Dr Eunyoung said there were number of reasons why red meat triggered this type of breast cancer. They included the treatment of
beef cattle with speed-up growth hormones. Carcinogenswill be created during cooking with high temperatures and with the presence of a certain
form of iron in the meat. Dr Eunyoung suggested that the presence of carcinogens such as hetrocyclic amines- substances formed when meat, poultry
and fish were cooked at high temperatures might be behind the increased risks.
So not only women but men kindly take notes but as I said before don't be despair, you can switch your daily meals to vegetables.

1) Leafy - Consists of spinach, lettuce,
2) Tubers- potatoes, sweet potatoes.
3) Bulbs- shallots, spring onions,chives, garlic.
4) Fruity Vegetables- Cucumber, ladies finger, tomatoes, brinjal
5) Beans & Peas, long beans, French beans.
6) Roots- ginger, yam, carrot, turnip, radish, sweet potatoes.
